Wongatha Education Trust

Carey is committed to assisting Aboriginal participation and skills enhancement through investment in education, training and development, and scholarships.

Wongatha (Wangkathaa, Wongi) is the tribal/language group name for Aboriginal peoples of the Goldfields region of Western Australia.   Daniel Tucker, founder and Managing Director of Carey has strong traditional connections to the Wongatha regions.

In 2007 the Wongatha Education Trust was established by Daniel and his wife, Lynley to promote the importance of education and to support the learning of Australian Aboriginal peoples.

The Wongatha Education Trust provides scholarships to Aboriginal primary, secondary and tertiary students to help them reach their potential. The Wongatha Education Trust also invests in initiatives that create opportunities for learning and development of Aboriginal people.
